Frequently Asked Questions
Some of our FAQ’s are listed below.
How will the app work for me?
The Linq team consists of hardware, software, and application engineers (here in the US) from the facilities industry who design, manufacture, and install the systems throughout the US and abroad.
Our goal is to work with clients and partners to help solve business problems by harnessing the power of the cloud.
Collecting asset data in a facility is an important task for compliance and preventive maintenance. Facilities engineering staff are busy with today’s demanding work environment. Data capture rounds are time consuming and tedious work. But even worse, the value in this data is commonly lost or underutilized because it is manually written down on paper and stored in binders. There is no easy way to analyze this data for reporting purposes or finding problems before they occur.
Linq’s cloud-based platform utilizes existing on-site smart phones and/or tablets at the facility to capture asset data via an app. The app pushes the data to a 100% cloud based platform to analyze and report on this data, and produce real-time alarms.
Is it easy to tweak or change the digital form in the app at a later date?
Yes, either you or Linq’s staff can change the form within a few hours. We encourage our customers to change the form to make it more user friendly and efficient over time.
What if my staff member inputs wrong data in the app?
Each data point has intelligence behind it. If an entry is outside preset boundaries, the operator entering the data can be asked to confirm the value. If it’s correct but out-of-bounds, then an informative message will be sent as an email or text message alert to the appropriate personnel. For example, “pressure out of range on rack-22.”
Is there a way to know if a person in charge of inputting the data physically went to the location while doing their rounds?
Each asset can have a QR code provided by Linq which can be scanned by the engineer’s smart phone or tablet in order make sure the person was on site to collect the asset reading, and that no human error was made in properly identifying the asset.
Can I take pictures of the asset while inputting the data?
Not only textual or numerical data, but also asset images can be collected by utilizing the camera of the phone/tablet.
Can the data be exported to other systems?
Yes, once the data has been logged and uploaded into the cloud, it can be transmitted to other systems in a variety of formats, either automatically every day or through a manual export.
Can I get alerts if the value entered is out of "normal" range?
Yes. The fields can be “programmed” for different behaviors, such as alerting on out-of-bound conditions or hiding a section of questions based on the response.
Can I have my technicians be reminded if they forget to perform a round?
The data entry system has scheduling alerts and can alert an operator if they fail to complete a round before the deadlines dictated by management (for example, once a day or week).
